Lefty pairs best with a flared vessel but others will do. Use a coarse grind (as with French press brewing). Designed for #2 V60 filters, but alternate filters can be fitted and made to work. Find one not prone to clogging for good flow.
Suggested method:
Pre-moisten the filter while warming the coil and vessel with hot water and discard the excess.
Bloom the grounds or 30 seconds or so, then add enough hot water(98 degrees) that will fill the cup about two-thirds full – let Lefty drain and steep for 2-3 minutes. Add more water then lift and hold to top up. Use a second cup to catch the excess.
With practice the result is worth the effort, the spring coil design holds in the heat for a cup brewed at a perfect temp.
